About the Event
The Sanilac Area Violence Elimination Council invites you to join us Thursday, October 1st at 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Diamond Trail Walking Path. Come help us acknowledge October, Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Enjoy the walk and the information signs along the path to help identify and understand the impact of domestic violence on our community.
The SAVE Council will also be distributing personal safety alarms and stay safe tips to all women and children over the age of 10 years of age that participate in the walk. Glow in the dark necklaces will also be provided to all attendees.
The event is free, however, a donation canister will be available for anyone that would like to help support Eva’s Place by making a cash donation. October is the beginning of a new membership year for the SAVE Council. Membership forms will be available for anyone that would like to become a member of our council and partner with us as we work to end domestic violence in the lives of men, women and children of Sanilac County. Yearly membership dues are $10.00 payable to SAVE.
At the end of the 1 mile path, a poster board will be available to anyone that would like to jot a note of support or encouragement for our local victims of domestic violence. The poster board will be placed on display at the Eva’s Place Shelter to help encourage shelter clients as the recover from their abuse.
