17th ANNUAL FLAMINGO FLING SETS NEW FUNDRAISING RECORDS!

The Deckerville Community welcomed the 17th Annual Flamingo Fling to the Mi-Dahs Well Banquet Hall in a big way! The event was held Friday, May 3rd with 200 ladies in attendance for the event’s biggest crowd ever! Ladies were offered 144 prize packages for Silent and Live Auctions. Additional raffles included another 45 prizes! This year’s Fling also had a record 84 cash sponsors that generously donated $15,024.00 to support the event. When the tally was completed this year’s Fling grossed a record total of $53,377.00!

The Sanilac Area Violence Council holds the annual Flamingo Fling to raise fund to support the Eva’s Place shelter. Eva’s Place is Sanilac County’s only emergency residential shelter for women and children fleeing domestic violence, sexual assault or homelessness. With the generous support of so many, the shelter will be receiving $50,000.00 from this year’s event to help support the shelter’s annual operating costs. The SAVE Council wishes to extend sincere thanks to all our sponsors and everyone involved, especially our “Event” sponsors that provided cash donations, goods or supports valued at $500.00 or more: Chemical Bank, Nutrien Ag. Solutions, Kohl’s, C & M Homes, Destiny Plastics, Sawdust Garage, Dave Hall Chevrolet, Tri County Equipment, Above and Beyond Tuxedo, Eastern Michigan Bank, Marion Lodge No. 392, Midnight Madness/Keinath Tire/Mike and Dana Keinath, Harbor Mist Cottage, and the Goodtimers!

Thanks also to Mr. Mark Hart for his donation of auctioneer services, volunteers from Kohl’s, Goodtimers and our amazing Fling team volunteers for all the wonderful help!

This event would not be possible without ALL the generous sponsors, guests, volunteers, Fling Committee Members and Eva’s Place staff for all they do to help. It was an incredible night, with record setting results, made possible by incredible people! A MOST SINCERE THANKS TO ALL!
